News from WhitCo
ONGOING development of its Thrapston premises, its services and its staff has seen Whitco cement its reputation as one of the leading companies in the region and one of the leading catering and bakery equipment companies in the UK.
The company offers an impressive array of food preparation and storage equipment and has a wide-ranging portfolio of major projects for prisons, schools, colleges, universities and hospitals as well as independent restaurants and cafes.
Having become a name known and trusted within the catering sector, Whitco has built on that, extending its services to become an expert both locally and nationally not just in commercial kitchens and bakeries but in any food retailer from cocktail bars and wine merchants to trendy coffee shops and garden centre restaurants.
Its demonstration kitchens allow customers to discuss products and brochures with knowledgeable staff, while the recent addition of a retail ‘shop window’ allows customers to view and purchase furniture and items such as glassware, crockery and pizza bags.
Director Vita Whitaker said: “We have turned our breadth of knowledge into a one-stop shop for catering advice. Our aim is to make our headquarters feel like somewhere customers can drop into any time, to see the displays and brochures and discuss products with knowledgeable staff.
“Key roles have been created to reach this wider audience, including Zoe Foster’s appointment as National Contracts Manager as well as two more sales managers, to reflect the scope of Whitco across the UK. The consultancy element is growing stronger all the time, with customers realising that we can be involved from their first idea, through to supply and installation.
“We’re expanding into areas such as a personalised design service and more table-top items, as well as Whitco Solutions, which provides hygiene and cleaning equipment. Our aim is to offer a comprehensive service to reflect the changing face of the food and drinks sector.”
Work on the Whitco website will be completed soon, allowing customers to order online for the first time, and Whitco will be running Open Days on 17 August and 4 October when customers can visit the Thrapston premises and see for themselves the equipment in action, and view and discuss the products and services on offer. Those days are complemented by live cooking demonstrations.
Vita added: “There’s so much to look forward to, as the business continues to grow and develop, including our involvement once again in the Carlsberg UK Northamptonshire Food and Drink Awards, and an appearance at the GLEE exhibition at the NEC in Septmber.
“We’d also like to wish our Sales Manager, Isabella Anello-Jewry, all the best as she goes on maternity leave and invite all of Isabella’s clients to contact the team at the office should they need any help while she is away.”
