Whitco at 21 – more opportunities

Whitco is 21 years old on November 1. The initial changes that we made a year ago to organisational structure are almost set, with new jobs currently being created.

The organisational change is a consequence of the company’s new business strategy which is still evolving too. We have taken on new suppliers, we’re entering new markets and offering new food and drink service and retail solutions to a wider range of clients and last but not least have added interior design to our list of services.

We have added consultancy and interior design to our list of services. This means that we can offer a full package to clients looking for this additional help.  The technical service and support desk and the engineering team will also undergo a major change, to improve the service that we currently offer.

Whitco’s branding and image has been refreshed and updated, “It was important that to us that our message was clear and concise and that our clients could see, as well as experience these exciting changes,” says Whitco’s Vita Whitaker.

Whitco has operated from the same offices and warehouses – roughly  9,000 square feet – for 19 years.  “We have spent a lot of time looking for new properties to purchase and move in to, only to establish that there is nothing better in the locality. We are perfectly situated for all major road links and the town of Thrapston is convenient for all our business and our staff’s personal needs. So we made the decision to update our IT systems last year investing over £20,000 and now it’s time to refurbish and decorate our offices”.

The refurb includes an improved phone system, new furniture and carpets. Everything, including the painting and decorating will be finished by the end of November. Once the offices are complete, the warehouses will be reorganised to maximise stock holding and give better stock visibility for staff and clients who come and buy direct from our HQ. The service vans have all been replaced and the shiny new vehicles have been wrapped in new graphics.

Last but not least, our website is currently being refreshed, with the purpose of it being more meaningful and useful to our customers, once it is up to date with the changes, a newsfeed and blog, discussing everything from places to eat and drink, equipment innovation to current affairs!
