Restaurant reconstruction and elegant restyling during lockdown
Palmichael, the award-winning Italian restaurant closed its doors for 20 weeks during the spring and summer for a complete overhaul of its premises. The Covid crisis gave the Palmiero family the time to rethink its business and envision a new and better Palmichael, which is located in Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire.
They have combined their authentic award-winning Italian food with an exciting new style. The restaurant now showcases a stunning and sumptuous art deco interior, with white Carrera marble downstairs. This has been complemented by the creation of a sumptuous new cocktail bar and dining area upstairs – formerly the Palmiero family home.
Available to book for lunch and dinner reservations it offers the perfect setting for group bookings, whether you are entertaining friends, having a business meeting, or hosting a party. The versatile space can host parties for up to 30 guests dining or 50 for drinks and Cicchetti, with direct access to the bar. The venue is a great area for receptions.
Whitco CEO Vita Whitaker worked with the family to create the vision for the new restaurant. Whitco’s design and build team moved in to create the new space with design decisions going on in real time, in parallel with the construction process to overcome the inevitable snags and issues as they arose.
The new Palmichael offers a beautiful and amazing destination for everyone.
Says Vita: “Our team worked incredibly hard to execute the design brief to the highest standards.”
The Palmichael has been owned and run by two generations of the Palmiero family since 1981. Michael heads the kitchens and sister Maria runs the front of house. Their priorities are clear and simple: fine authentic Italian food and great friendly service.
The family are delighted to have been awarded Restaurant of the Year in 2016/17 and again in 2018/19 at the Northamptonshire Carlsberg Food and drink awards.
Said Maria: “We want to say a huge thank you for the tremendous amount of support we’ve received since March. It has been the most unprecedented time for us all, and we are excited to get all our team back together. We look forward to welcoming friends old and new back into our new Palmichael, to enjoy a host of delicious dishes and creative cocktails.
