Many thanks to Students Union CEO Tye McMahon for publicly recognising our contribution to the the gleaming new sports facilities at the University of West London.
We were working on the development of Coffee Union, a new café at the university last summer when we were asked to step in and get a new gym project over the line at the same time.
Working against a very challenging timescale, our team took over from the existing contractor to complete the new gym. They supplied and fitted checker plates, huge mirrors, rails for yoga mats, lockers, benches and shower screens. Then they had to rip up the floor in the showers, fix a problem with the drains, and then re-lay the flooring.
Both the café and the gym were open in time for the new term in August. Said Tye: “We won the competitive external tender to manage the new UWL Sports Centre on behalf of University of West London and my team University of West London Students’ Union have done an amazing job over the last few months setting up a brilliant space that has been so well received by students, staff and local residents – exceeding targets month on month.
“Special thanks to our partners WhitCo Catering & Bakery Equipment Ltd who worked outside their normal remit to help pull it all together at the final stages.”
